Had a look on-line, yes it does clean carpets, there's a short video showing how it's done, looks real simple even a guy could work it.

The manufacturer recommends that you use distilled, de-ionised or de-mineralised water to reduce the effects of limescale in steam products, especially if you live in a hard water area.
