Hi, thank you for your question.

Having looked into your query, I can confirm that from reviews on slow cookers, these products are relatively low in electricity costs. However, you would need to speak to your electricity provider to confirm how much it would cost to use the Cookworks Signature 6.5 Litre Slow Cooker on a regular basis.

I do apologise but I am unable to comment as to how cost effective a slow cooker would be compared to an oven.

Thank you for using Q & A.

Question
Is the Cookworks Signature 6.5 litre slow cooker cool to touch as described?
I read the product information on the website and have bought one for my daughter but it does not say on the box that it has this feature. On reading through the reviews, although mainly great, some people do say that it gets hot on the outside.

Question
Why do you have to start with boiling water?
All recipes say "put all ingredients in bowl, turn on, come home in the evening to a lovely meal". Why with this particular model do you have to only start with boiling water and what about re-heating something that has gone cold?
