Customer questions and answers for Indesit IWDD7143 White Washer Dryer - Instal/Del/Recycle.

Question
Why is the dryer too hot and ruining my clothes?
There is no temperature control on the dryer, consequently some of my clothes have been ruined. Due to the heat, my clothes come out smelling awful, like warm rubber. I have had engineer out and he tells us that this product does run at a high heat. He suggested that I am overloading the washer. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! I put two towels in and after 180 mins they were still damp and stunk terrible. Still the engineer assures me that there is not a problem with it.

Hello, thank you for your question.

I can confirm that the dryer does not need a vent. The water is condensed within the machine and is removed via the same waste pipe used by the washing machine.

Thanks for using Argos Q&A.

Question
Can you use washer and dryer independently?
Would like to know if all washing programmes can be used without including a drying programme - one of the reviews I read indicated the quick wash could only be used with a drying programme included, surely this can't be right. Also whether dryer can be used independently to dry clothes which have not just been washed, i.e. on a timer function like a normal tumble drier. Many thanks

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have looked at the instructional manual of the Indesit IWDD7143 White Washer Dryer and when starting a wash you set the wash cycle, set the washing temperature and then set the drying cycle if necessary. This would indicate that you can use the washing machine independently from the dryer. At the end of the wash cycle the END indicator light will switch on. The drying cycle can be used on its own by turning the drying knob to select the desired drying option. There are two option based on time for desired laundry dryness level.

Hi, thanks for your question.

I have looked into this and can confirm that Argos do offer an installation service on this washer dryer. If you would like to have Argos install it, you would need to order catalogue number 478/5170 instead of this one.

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have looked into this and the washer dryer is not a condenser dryer. The water that is removed from the clothes when drying is taken away through the waste pipe as it does when the clothes are being washed.

Hi, thank you for your question.

I can confirm that with this item being a combined Washer Dryer this will already need to be plumbed into the mains, so the water that condenses will then be removed using the waste pipes as used when a wash has finished.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
