Flash is NOT supported as from Android 4.1, the default "chrome" browser does not support Flash in any way. So as it currently stands this tablet will be unable to use such features. You will not be able to use apps such as bbc iplayer. As from mid August Adobe Flash will be removed from the android market. It is expected that these apps (BBC, ITV, Sky etc..) will eventually use the HTML5 format, which these tablets will support. Bear in mind this is not specific to just these tablets, but any Android device using the 4.1.

Please type "nexus 7 flash" into a search engine for confirmation of this.

Thank you for your question regarding the Google Nexus 7.

I can advise that this tablet features a full internet browser including Flash compatibility for use with these services. Also, many functions such as iPlayer have their own dedicated apps available on the Google Play Market.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.

You can use USB devices using an OTG cable that will let you plug in low powered USB devices such as keyboards, mice, gamepads etc. To use the cable though requires either rooting the device, which can invalidate the warranty, or purchasing a low cost app that will let you use the cable without rooting.
USB disk drives generally need more power than the Nexus can provide unless you have a powered drive or usb hub with it's own power.
USB Flash drives are fine though

I can advise that this product has a Micro-USB socket, however we would advise you to check with Google regarding the available uses of this port as certain functionalities may not be supported.

There is no integrated storage expansion slot, if you wish to extend your storage you would have to purchase an OTG Cable, and get an App called Nexus Media Importer which allows you to connect the cable to the tablet as well as the storage devise.

Hope this helps.
Regards, Daniel.

Android itself will support the standard file types such as MP3, MPG etc. (file types that have free decoders). As other post says, there are many apps on the Google Play store that can play most media types out there.

As it's an Android device, there are numerous media players you can download from the Google Play Store via a wireless internet connection. Your bases will be very well covered in this regard.

Further to Argos's answer above -- you need to be aware that that plugging the tablet into a TV that has a USB socket will not achieve anywhere near as much as would be possible if the tablet had an HDMI or other video out connector. It'll be similar to if you copied files off the tablet onto a USB memory stick and then plugged that into your TV.
