Q.
Aerial required?
Hey all just curious. I am aware that it comes with freeview built in, but does it have its own aerial built in to be able to pick up the signal or do i have to buy one seperately?

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have looked in to this and you will just need to attach to your normal aerial as there is the in built tuner.

Thank you for using Question & Answer.

I have cable TV upstairs now but before that was installed I used a standard indoor aerial with this TV and was able to tune in to Freeview quite easily. An aerial is not generally supplied with a TV of this size. You usually get them with 14" .

Q.
where is the on/off switch
the manual says this TV has an on / off switch - as does some of the reviews

all I can find is a standby button at the side

some reviews say there is an on/off switch at the top - there isnt on mine - same model number

the standby light is very bright and flashes - very annoying
want to switch it off when not in use - plug is hard to reach (behind a unit)
please advise.

As far as I know, you have to switch to standby and then switch off at the mains. My lounge TV which is 32" is exactly the same. I think on/off switches are going out of fashion now. My standby light only flashes for a few seconds and the light itself is very pale blue and does not disturb us at night. Why not try an extension lead and reposition your TV in order to reach plug more easily?

I do not like leaving anything on stand by.
What I use is a Remote controlled socket set. An adapter is placed in the socket then the tv is plugged into it. You can then turn the TV off from anywhere in the home.
Hope this helps.

Answer(s)
A.
There is a VGA socket on the back, however I have tried 3 different units and they all didn't work with a VGA lead plugged in. TV wouldn't power up on 2 of them and wouldn't switch back to TV mode on the third one. Avoid this TV.

Top up tv compatible means that you can purchase extra sky channels for the tv e.g uk tv gold. A monthly subscription for the channels would be required.

Top up tv compatible means it will work with a top up tv set top box. Top up tv is when you pay money in able to watch tv. You must top it up regularly to watch any channels.

I think it means new channels can be loaded by using auto install. It may mean the TV upsdates itself. Not sure - we have only just purchased the Tv but my big one installs new channels on its own. Hope this is of some help.

Might be if there has been a digital update overnight. The instructions say updates happen overnight so recommend leaving plugged in some of the time so these are received. This might affect the buttton,

We bought ours about 2 weeks ago and it tuned in straight away to all the stations. If you have tried another set on that aerial then I would say it is the set itself.
