The Freesat box comes with a scart cable although the box and catalogue both state that it doesn't. I was even asked by the sales assistant if I would like to buy one.

A free sat box needs a feed from the lnb of a satellite dish in order to operate, but, having attached it to the dish you can then use a scart lead to connect it to your T.V. The Free View in your T.V. needs the correct aerial connected to it in order to work. In order to use the HD on your T.V. you would need to invest in the H.D. version of free sat, which is more expensive.

Yes, if you have both AV1 & AV2 TV sockets. Uusally AV1 will be a recorder and AV2 is SAT & DTV. The sat will take over when switched on, but by pressing TV input you should switch to either Anologue or DTV. Depends on your TV

Will connect using SCART so should't have a problem.

This box will only give an SD output. You may want to consider a HD freesat box.

there is no reason why this box should not work even on a small 800 dish to pick up the majority of channels from astra 2 at 28.degrees It will not pick up sky or itv or bbc general channels only on a minimum of 1.6 metre dish .Unless aky card subscription is paid it will not just pick up sky.

free sat comes from {sky satellite}@28.2 dregees & is run by bbc/itv etc. so it will work there ok .you need the same equepment [dish etc]t to receive it. so if someone next door has sky [bar or pub] you need same size of dish installed.if you get it installed in the installation menu put in your post code for where you live in uk so you will get your local bbc1/bbc2 itv region ie if you put in scottish post code you would get bbc1scotland bbc2 scotland etc

Free Sat is transmitted by the same satellite as sky, Astra 2b at 28.2 degrees east of south, so, if you can receive sky on the Costa Blanca, then it will work equally as well. Remember to type in a british post code when asked in the set-up menu.

Answer(s)
yes your sky dish lnb has four outputs,if you just have sky +connected there is only two of these connected [ one for the picture you can watch & one goes to your hard drive to record another programme ] that means you have two outputs free ;;you could run two leads from these outlets to two seperate rooms with single input sd boxes as all these outputs are indpendent &you dont need to disconnect your sky +box,or you could run these two leads to a freesat box with a built in hard drive.

Yes you can connect your sd freesat box to the sky+hd dish and it will operate normally, by using either cable, or you can leave your sky+ box conected and run another lead from one of the spare connectors on the dishes lnb, there are usually four, and use it in another room. Even if your contract with sky is terminated the sky+ box will still work, albeit as a sky box with the free channels and no record facility.

Hi, thanks for your question.

No, you do not need a card to receive Freesat. You will need a satellite installed on the outside of your property and a Freesat receiver set top box like this one.

With Freesat, you will receive over 140 digital TV channels as well as over 20 radio stations and other digital services.

Thank you for using Question & Answer.

No card is required, the sky dish will give you most of the channels that you got with sky apart from the sky ones! If you can afford to spend a bit more then the freesat hd box would give a few more channels and a fantastic picture.

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
A freesat dish must be connected to a sky dish to function correctly. It will not work with an aerial.

Your Sky dish should have a cable that runs into your home (and used to connect to your Sky box). You just plug the Bush Freesat box into this cable. Mine worked first time. But if your Sky dish is old or needs adjusting, you might need to contact a dish fitter to get it looked at.

If you have Sky + then you should still have 2 spare output's on your LMB. Just get some sat cable and connectors and away you go. Just make sure you unplug your Sky box before connecting the new cable to the LMB

YES as long as the dish is stillworking. . . just plug in the cable from the Dish ( it just screws in ) then connect the power and turn it on. When it starts up it will ask you for your postcode so that it can give you the correct channels for your area ie bbc1; then ENJOY !

As long as your dish is pointing to the Astra satellites at 28 degrees east of south (the Sky satellites) then connect the cable to the back of the Bush box and the box sets itself up. Make sure the box is switched off when you connect the dish cable as there is power on the cable which could damage the LNB on the dish if there is an accidental short.
An on screen signal level meter appears on the screen and should be 50% or greater.
If signal level is low and the box cannot find the channels then best advice is to get a dish installer in with the correct allignment equipment.
