Yes, but better if it is a Digital areal.
There is a decoder in the box but it's preferable to have a digital complaint areal.
You'll be able to get all free channels if you have good reception, otherwise you might loose all terrestrial channels.
For some reason now that we've gone digital the former terrestrial channels (FTC) seem to be the hardest ones to sync!

I have poor reception so I had to choose to whether have the FTC or the digital channels, since I only care for sky news I chose the latter.
Even my mobile phone has poor reception here unfortunately...

hi,thanx for you question, firstly you can use this with either aerial (connecters are the same) but the signal strength from an indoor aerial might need a booster to help, dependent on where you live,
secondly you will need to use your indoor aerial in an uninterrupted place like your loft otherwise you could cause ghosting when you move around.hope that answers your question.

Hi there,

For the Bush Freeview HD Digital Set Top Box, the top box can be connected to your TV via the SCART and you are good to go. Yes it will pick up digital signals from an indoor aerial.

I hope this helps and have a good day.

You have failed to answer this question. They are not HD channels but are Internet Protocol TV services accessed via portals which are now in their own "genre" starting at channel 225.

That message is returned when the viewer attempts to access one of these but was tested and approved before April 2011 - when a new set of technical specifications were added to the Freeview HD testing process. So does this comply with that and therefore have the necessary MHEG-IC software?

Hi brad,
For pausing or recording Freeview, you would need a Freeview+ box. I am sorry but this model is not compatible with those features.
Thanks for using Q&A

This box receives HD channels at 1080p, allowing them to be viewed as intended. Additionally it upscales SD channels to 1080p making them look better on your HDTV, the difference is subtle but an improvement all the same.

As a guide, it uses about 1.4 gigabytes for an hour's recording, so an 8 gigabyte memory stick will give around 5-6 hours recording and a 16g stick 10-12 hours; I have one and use a 16g stick on it - it's very handy as an inexpensive video recorder. Incidentally, it will record subtitles if these are switched on during recording, useful for the hard of hearing.

Yes you can. As the input will be HDMI, you will have the freeview transmitter off in your TV as your not watching freeview via TV but via a HDMI input.
