I have been looking at this camera, however no it does not have manual focus or any type of manual setting. You have to use one of the scene modes. The panasonic Lumix LZ20 does have manual focus. whilst it has less modes it does have this facility which compensates.

I am afraid not. I have only Canon and Minolta equipment. However memory cards are now standard items. The only word of advice I can give is that the normal amateur does not need to go for a massive memory.

I have had no problems with two Canon cells but would suggest that the Duracell LP-E8 equivalent be considered although even cheaper cells are available. One word of warning - I had one cell (out of four supplied with a battery grip) from another supplier which would not mate with the contacts in my Canon Charger!
