It depends on the ampere-hour rating of the bikes battery. An old rule of thumb is to never charge at more than one tenth of the ampere-hour rating. For a 30 AH battery you can charge at 3 amps. The charger should be OK but ONLY use it in trickle charge mode.

Whatever you do don't charge the battery in the front room where the best carpets and furniture are. A bloke in the bike club did this several decades ago and for some reason the battery exploded and splashed acid everywhere!.

Hi Tim1

I have spoken to the manufacturer for you and they tell me there is no engine start function on this model. I have informed the website team so they can look into this picture and get this changed to show the correct model. I apologise for any confusion this has caused.

Have a nice day.

Hi Joanie

The unit runs off mains electric so you do not need to charge it up. Remove the battery from the car that you wish to charge, attach to the charger, plug into the mains and away you go.

Have a nice day.

Answer(s)
the charger instructions indicate that the residual voltage needs to be ~ 1.5V at least as it may indicate some damaged cells.

If it is simply been left there, and no damage suspected, then would expect it to charge.

But cannot guarantee !
