I called LG today and they confirmed that the Product LG DH900 is only DVD and DOES NOT SUPPORT BLU-RAY.

I have just been into the Newbury store and viewed the item (in the hope that the code was wrong and it was actually something else at this good price) associated with argos code 905/1469 and it is definitely DH900 and does not show Blu-Ray anywhere on the packaging !!!!

Remember if it appears to be "too good to be true" . . . . .

Some top of the range blu-ray players have inputs to allow home cinema system connections, if not most up to date tv's will allow direct connection of home cimema systems.

Hi There

Depending on connectivity of the Home Cinema & your T.V I would suggest the following.
1. Connect the home cinema via an HDMI cable or
2. Connect via an optical cable. or
3. Connect via a scart lead and another cable from audio out on the t.v and audio in on the home cinema.
4. I have my home cinema connected using an audio cable from the home cinema audio in to the headphone socket on my T.V. I also have it connected via a scart lead. This works fine.
I would leave the Blueray player as is.
Don't forget to turn the T.V sound down to its lowest level.

You may need to purchase these cables I've mentioned but they are readily available on the net.

Hope this helps.

Doesnt play TV sound when connected through SCART?
I have connected this via SCART cable. It plays DVD fine and the surrond effect is good. But Doesnt play TV sound even though when I press TV Conn function.
I connected it via scart to my SKY box and it plays the TV sound but only front speakers , back speakers dont play. Again it doesnt show DVD picture as it is not directly connceted to TV I supose thatswhy. Do I need to connect additinal Phono cable with SCART for TV sound? What if I connect it via HDMI will it play sound then?

Thank you for your question.

After looking into your query, I can confirm that you need to use an optical cable from the TV to the BDH9000 in order to play sound from the TV, Sky, digital boxes or consoles. If you require more information regarding the installation of your product then we would recommend contacting the manufacturer as they will be able to guide you through the instructions and technical support.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
