Question
If I use it in my car, will the signal keep dropping?
Cannot replace my current radio as it's an electrical nightmare, so want to use this device, possibly with a portable speaker, but wonder what digital radio is like on the move around town

Have since purchased the item and used it with a mini portable speaker. So far so good. Am going to try using a splitter cable and two speakers and wondering whether that will increase the overall quality of reception by more than doubling the aerial length

The radio reception depends on the quality of the radio's aerial. If you connect the radio to a portable speaker then the lead between the radio and the speaker will act as an aerial. Unfortunately, it is not a particularly good aerial and you will probably lose reception as you move around town.

The radio is supplied with a USB lead, but not a UK mains plug. It can be charged from a computer port with that lead, but an adapter would be needed to charge it directly from a mains socket.

Question
Mini or Micro USB?
Is the USB connector on this radio a Mini or Micro USB? I'm sick of having to carry loads of cables around, so if it's the same charger as my phone then I'd be happy.

It would appear to be a 'flat mini' usb connection, so not the same as universal mini usb - this one is slightly flatter. Saying that, one is provided with the product to connect to usb ports

You can also disable the auto-lock feature altogether - by modifying the default setting, to do this go through the menu (hold 'enter' for a few seconds to access main menu)

It is possible to connect this to an amplifier using the 'line in' facility, this line will also function as an aerial, so in theory if you have the correct lead and own a suitable amplifier it can be used through a speaker system

Hello, thank you for your question.

I am sorry to advise that we have been recently updated on the Bush Portable DAB/FM Radio - Black and can confirm that it does not have a loudspeaker as the headphones function as an aerial. I am sorry for any confusion caused by the previous answer.

Thank you for using Argos Q+A.

this can be connected to amplifiers by using the fairly common 'line in/out' facility that is present on some hifi's and 3.1 speaker systems, so yes in theory can be used without headphones.

No, this radio doesn't have a loudspeaker, and also the earphone lead must be plugged in as it acts as the aerial.

It hasn't got RCA plugs....
...But you could of course use this with RCA leads that have a mini jack (headphone) connection on one end and rca (red/white) male lead on the other end.

I currently use this to play the dab through my HiFi's 'line in' facility.
