Most T.V.s made in the last 20 years have a socket for headphones but it can be round the side or even the back. It's a hole the size of the slightly larger metal jack and it has a picture of headphones above it though it's small. Try looking all round the T.V. for the little hole. Then you plug the wireless disc into that hole and plug it into the wall. Switch the headphones on (with charged up batteries) and you should be good to go.

Check that both the channel settings are the same. Then make sure the volume is turned up on the tv and the head phones

Once you have identified the headphone socket on your tv and plugged the base unit in, ensure the headphone volume is up on the tv as well as the volume on the headset. Then check that the base unit is on the same channel as the headset.

Make sure the base unit is powered

There are switches on the headphones & the transmitter, channel 1 & channel 2 sited above the volume control on the headphones & on the recessed part on the back of the transmitter.
Ensure they are both on the same channel e.g. both on 1 or both on 2.
Also ensure the aerial is properly seated.

Thank you for your question.

Having looked into this, I can confirm that the best port of call is with the manufacturers of the Philips SHC5100 Wireless Headphones. Alternatively a universal AC adaptor may work, but this might not be covered by the warranty.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.

Hello, thank you for your question.

I have spoken to Philips regarding your query about the Philips SHC5100 Wireless Headphones. The adviser has informed me that the headphones can be directly connected to a source via a 3.5mm phono cable. However, the only issue is the headphones are charged from the base.
